Govt. distributes compensation to poultry entrepreneurs

The government has started providing compensation to the chickens and poultry feed destroyed after declaring bird flu emergency zone in Bhaktapur district. So far, a total of Rs 60 million has been provided to the farmers as compensation, RSS quoted Chief of the District Livestock Office, Khagendra Raj Bhatta saying. It is learnt that some 360 farmers in the district have got compensation in the district. The government has allocated around Rs 132 million for distributing the compensation. The government has provided Rs 130 to each broiler chicken, Rs 250 to parent chicken, Rs 50 to chicks, Rs 3 per egg and Rs 10 per kg for poultry feed. The poultry entrepreneurs have to submit the proper documents and papers regarding the imports, tax payment and registration to get the compensation.
