Ultralight pilot killed in crash

Pokhara, November 23
An ultralight aircraft operated by the Avia Club crashed in Pokhara today, killing its pilot Alexander Maximov from Russia and injuring another Canadian national.
Police Inspector Mohanmani Adhikari of Ward Police Office Baidam confirmed the happening of the tragedy. The accident that took place at the Club’s runway at Lauruk of Kaskikot early today has left Canadian woman Jillene Volker seriously injured.
Maximov had been working for the Avia Club for the past 14 years.
The preliminary investigations showed that the ultralight aircraft with call sign 9N-ALC had crashed in course of hang gliding. RSS
