Public holiday in honour of Indian President

Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki has said the government has decided to give a public holiday on November 2 in honour of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, who is arriving here the same day.
The Indian President Mukherjee is coming to Nepal on a three-day visit at the invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday decided to give public holiday on the day the Heads of the State from India and China arrive in Nepal on State visit.
Earlier, in May 1998, Indian President KR Narayanan had visited Nepal.
It is the tradition that public holiday is announced on the day the Heads of the State India and China arrive in Nepal.
During the visit in Nepal, Indian President Mukherjee is scheduled to hold official talks with President Bhandari, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The Indian President will also visit Pashupatinath in Kathmandu and the Janaki temple of Janakpur. He would also address the special convocation ceremony of the Kathmandu University and an event of the ex-Indian army persons in Pokhara. RSS
