PABSON decides to hike fees of private schools
KATHMANDU, MAR 10 –
Private and Boarding Schools Organisation-Nepal ( PABSON ) on Monday decided to hike the school fees going against the verdict of Supreme Court. The new working committee of the PABSON , which was recently elected after the 12th general convention, made such announcement amidst a press conference here in the Capital today. “The private schools have been forced to increase the fees as the state has increased the salaries of teachers and the government employees in line with the inflation,” said the newly elected Chairman Lakshya Bahadur KC,” We don’t have any other alternatives and the fees will be hiked from the academic year 2071.” The Supreme Court in its last year verdict had issued that no any private schools would raise the fees for the next three years. According to which the private schools can only increase the fees after academic year 2072 B.S. PABSON ‘s outgoing Chairman Baburam Pokhrel, however, claimed that the apex court had issued the verdict to the government and not the private schools .
