My health is good, now time to make country healthy: NC President Koirala
26 Nov, Kathmandu:

Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said his health was good, and country’s problems would also fizzle out soon.

Talking to media persons upon his arrival from the US after cancer treatment, on Thursday evening, President Koirala said at Tribhuvan Airport that he was fully cured of cancer. Through talks and consensus, the country’s problems could be resolved, he hoped.

He further said he had got cancer in tongue and lungs, and the doctors had prescribed follow up every four month.
The NC President further said, “Once the process of the amendment of constitution is accelerated, the demands of Tarai/Madhes would be resolved. So, all should focus on it.”

Stating that there shall be no threat against nation’s nationality, integrity and sovereignty, Congress President called on the Madhes-centric agitating parties to make their protest peaceful. The voices of Madhes could not be ignored completely.

The country for the first time in its history has got the constitution from the Constituent Assembly (CA) which has ensured the rights of all caste, language, community and genders and given the sense of recognition to everyone’s identity.

Though the Congress is in the opposition, it was in touch with the agitating parties for finding a way out to the Madhes problem, he said, urging the government and agitating parties to sit for talks being sensitive on the agenda.

When asked about his candidacy in the upcoming party general convention, he said he would take a decision after holding discussions with the party leaders and his colleagues.

Party General Secretaries Prakashman Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu, central members Dr Minendra Rijal and Bal Bahadur KC among others were at TIA to receive the party president. Leader Koirala on November 7 had set out for the US for medical check-up.RSS
