Dialysis services begin at Narayani hospital

7 July, Parsa: Dialysis service for kidney patients has begun at the Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birgunj from today.

Januka Ghimire, 51, of Hetauda municipality-11 was the first to receive dialysis service at the hospital.

The hospital formally started this service from today after a long wait, said medical superintendent Dr Ram Shankar Thakur.

According to the hospital, kidney patients will get this service free of cost. Two machines will provide the dialysis services as the number of kidney patients are increasing in Tarai these days, hospital sources said.

With the beginning of this service in the hospital, kidney patients in the region are no longer compelled to go to the urban centres to avail of dialysis service.
