5.5 Richter scale aftershock rattles capital

5 Feb, Kathmandu:

A 5.5-Richter scale aftershock of the Gorkha Earthquake jolted the capital city this evening at 10:05 pm.
The National Seismological Centre Chief Lok Bijaya Adhikari said the aftershock with epicentre in Sindhupalchowk district was recorded and added it was not new. The aftershock which struck in the late evening has sent people running out into the streets in fear.

The number of aftershocks of the earthquake measuring above 4.0 Richter scale has now hit 428.
