Lekhnath Municipality is named after Kavi Shiromani ( The poet of highest merit) Lekhnath Poudel in 1997 January 31. The Municipality is popularly known as “Garden City of Seven Lakes”, which consists of Begnas, Rupa, Dipang, Maidi,Nureni, Gunde and Khaste. The scenic view of Mt. Fishtail ( Machhapuchhre) can be seen clearly from here. The land of Lekhnath varies from 490 meters to 1217 meters above the sea level. The Municipality is 190 km north to the Kathmandu.It has cultural and natural diversity. It has total area of 78.93 sq. Km. TheMunicipality has bordered by Hansapur, Rupakot and Deuraliin east, Pokhara submetrolitan to north, Tanahun to the eastand Bharat Pokahari VDC to thesouth. The occupation of people in lekhnath are Agriculture,Service, Business and industry.Budhibazar, Bijayapur, Talchowk,Shishuwa and Gagangauda are main area of business. Different caste and religious people live here.The Transportation can be found easily. Many Tourists visit Lekhnath each year. They mainly visit to Lakes and make a short trip to Sundari Danda, Syaklung,Rupakot, Kalika etc. The hotels here always welcome you with great hospitality.
