Unidentified disease claims 26 lives

A total of 26 people died of an unidentified disease at Satbariyatol of Pokhariya Municipality-4 in Parsa district in the last three months.

The patients of the disease develop the symptoms mainly fever, cough and diarrhoea.
Local resident Shreepati Devi Thakur said that her three-month-old granddaughter died while sleeping within an hour of ointment.

Likewise, the disease of Babu Prasad Kanu was not diagnosed while getting treatment in the capital city for a month, Kanu’s father Shambhu Prasad said.

Fearing that God was unhappy, the locals have started worshiping the Gold in Satbariya area after the death of such large number of folks.

Officer of the District Public Health Office Raj Kishor Prasad said that mostly the children and elderly died of the disease while six persons of 12 to 55 years of age lost their lives from the unidentified disease.
