UML leaders bat for making CPN-UML a leading party

The leaders of CPN-UML taking part in the Standing Committee’s meeting here on Thursday have stressed on making the Party a number one force among the political parties in the country.
In the meeting held under the chairmanship of CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, they spoke of the need to further consolidate and unify the Party for the same.
Leaders taking part in the today’s Committee’s meeting were Ghanashyam Bhusal, Prithivi Subba Gurung, Amrit Kumar Bohara, Dr Puspa Kandel, Keshab Prasad Badal, Kiran Gurung and Satya Narayan Mandal.
According to a press statement released by Yogesh Bhattarai, Chief of CPN-UML Publicity and Publication Department on Thursday, the meeting also reflected on the performance of the party in the past especially while assuming leadership of the previous government as well as reviewed the activities conducted by it.
Furthermore, the meeting touched on the upcoming elections.
The leaders in the meeting recognized that the CPN-UML-led government’s accomplishments in tackling various issues such as border blockade, tensions in Tarai and adverse political condition in the country.
The meeting has taken pride of the positive steps taken by the previous government led by CPN-UML in safeguarding the national sovereignty and ensuring equality and justice.
The leaders also drew the attention of the concerned body in the Party to acknowledge its weakness in its performance while leading the previous government.
The next meeting of the CPN-UML’s Standing Committee is scheduled to be held at CPN-UML’s central office at Dhumbarahi on Friday.
