Tri-party unity for statute implementation: Khanal

Kathmandu, Oct 6: Former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) senior leader Jhalanath Khanal has said there was no alternative to unity among the three major political parties to ensure meaningful enforcement of the constitution.

Addressing a reception organised by the Nepal Intellectual Council, District Working Committee, Bhaktapur today on the Dashain and Tihar festivals, he said the effective implementation of the constitution, the prime need of the hour, was not possible merely by the efforts of the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center).

He further accused the these two parties in the coalition government of ignoring the role of CPN (UML) (the main opposition) in the constitution implementation process and attempting to push the country into a crisis. RSS
