19 karatekas picked for APSKF C’ships

KATHMANDU, Dec 4:Nepal Shitoryu Karate Association on Thursday selected 19 players — 10 male and nine female — for the 14th Asia Pacific Shitoryu Karate-do Federation (APSKF) Championships.

The Nepali karatekas will compete in 15 different events at the championships, scheduled to take place in Singapore from December 10-15.
Sonam Lama (55 kg), Sunil Lama (60 kg), Mohan Karki (67 kg), Dinesh Shrestha (75 kg), Bhim Bahadur Tamang (-84 kg) and Digambar Prasad Panta (+84 kg) will represent Nepal in men’s individual events.
In the women’s section, Anu Adhikari (50 kg), Mallika Thapa (55 kg), Sunny Tamang (61 kg), Bibhusha Thapa (-68kg), Rita Karki (+68 kg) were selected for individual events.

Similarly, Chanchala Danuwar will compete in women’s individual kata while Subhadra Shrestha, Sangeeta Dangol and Sunita Lama will represent the country in women’s team kata.
