NRCS has 90 blood collection centres

Kathmandu, April 6: Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) has been providing humanitarian services from 90 blood collection centres across the country.
Similarly, NRCS has 90 thousand trained volunteers working in the centre and 1.1 million members.
This information was given out in the 34th general convention of the NRCS Kathmandu District branch here on Saturday.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Basanta Raj Gautam suggested NRCS to further expand its relations with the community for blood collection.
NRCS central general secretary Devratna Dhakhwa said the Society’s Kathmandu branch has collected the largest amount of blood and therefore done an excellent job.
Dr Manita Rajkarnikar of the Central Blood Transfusion Centre underlined the need of encouraging people to donate blood so as to meet the growing demand.
NRCS Kathmandu District branch chief Balaram Shrestha called for increasing the youth’s participation in Red Cross activities.RSS
