Devotees throng Pashupatinath to celebrate first Monday of Saun
18 July, Kathmandu:
Hindu devotees thronged the Pashupatinath Temple since early morning today to observe the first Monday in the month Saun in Nepali calendar.
The month of Saun in the Hindu calendar is considered as the auspicious period to worship the Lord Shiva. Devotees are seen queuing up in the Pashupatinath to offer worships and prayers to the Lord Shiva. It is believed that devotees will get their wishes fulfilled by worshipping the Lord Shiva on the month of Saun especially on Mondays. They offer Bel leaves and water to the Lord Shiva on this occasion.
Devotees started visiting the temple since 2:00 am today, Pashupati Area Development Trust member secretary Govind Tandon said. RSS
